Seven provinces, each with a different reason a building owner ends up needing us. The regulation drives the deadline; the funding route decides what the work is worth. Both differ at every provincial border, and knowing which applies is most of the value of hiring one firm for a national portfolio.

Programs open, close and change their rules — often mid-year, and rarely with much notice. Before we quote, we confirm what is actually accepting applications in your province and what evidence it wants. That check is part of the job, not an extra.
A national portfolio split between regional consultants produces reports in seven formats, on seven schedules, with no comparable numbers. You cannot rank buildings against each other, and neither can your board.
We report every building the same way, to the same standard, so a portfolio can be prioritised on evidence instead of on whichever region shouted loudest.
Every engagement is quoted as a fixed fee before work begins, after a short scoping conversation. No hourly billing and no scope creep. If the scope genuinely changes, we say so and requote rather than adding it quietly to an invoice.
The most expensive mistake in this industry is buying the wrong depth of assessment. A walk-through that cannot support an incentive application has wasted the fee; an investment-grade study commissioned to answer a benchmarking question has wasted rather more. We ask what decision you are making before recommending what to buy.
If your building does not have a reporting obligation, we will say so. If a program you were told about has closed, we will say so. If the honest answer is that an audit will not find enough to justify itself in your building, we would rather tell you that than take the fee and prove it in a report.
We do not perform structural, code, hazardous materials or life-safety assessments. We do not issue construction specifications. We do not guarantee savings — we project them, state our assumptions, and build a measurement and verification plan so the result can be checked.
Our reports state their limitations explicitly. Experienced reviewers look for that section, and a report claiming no limitations at all is the one they scrutinise hardest.

For commercial audit clients this is relevant only in one respect: our assessment findings do not depend on who does the work. The measures we recommend and the savings we project are identical whether you use your own contractor, somebody else's, or nobody at all.
